Opening Sept 10 6- 8 PM | Upcoming Exhibitions at PAUL KASMIN GALLERY
FRANK STELLA: SHAPE AS FORM
Frank Stella: Shape as Form, a solo-exhibition of career-spanning works by the artist, will be on view at 293 10th Avenue from September 10 – October 10, 2015. Beginning with the “Protractor Series” of the 1960s through the “Bali Series” of the early 2000s, the exhibition articulates Stella’s groundbreaking fusion between painting and sculpture as illustrated by one major work from eight of the artist’s most important series.

WILL RYMAN: TWO ROOMS
Will Ryman: Two Rooms is a solo-exhibition of two new sculptural installations, The Situation Room (2012–2014) and Classroom (2015), on view at 515 West 27th Street from September 10 – October 17, 2015. Ryman’s recent works explore global and historical complexities; a subject the artist first began to investigate with America (2013), a conceptual sculpture of Abraham Lincoln’s childhood cabin shown in February of 2013 at Paul Kasmin Gallery.
TAI XIANGZHOU: CELESTIAL TALES
Tai Xiangzhou’s inaugural solo-exhibition at Paul Kasmin Gallery, Celestial Tales, debuts monochromatic ink paintings from the Chinese artist’s most recent body of work at 297 Tenth Avenue from September 10 – October 3, 2015. Tai’s latest works reinterpret traditional Chinese ink painting through the study of meteorites and reveal an increasingly more vibrant and expressive style than his previous series, Genesis, which explored these traditions through biomorphic forms. The artist is collected by major museums and institutions in the U.S., such as the Brooklyn Museum and the Arthur M. Sackler Museum at Harvard University. Celestial Tales marks TaiXiangzhou’s premier exhibition at a contemporary gallery.
